About BatteryPass
Who is behind BatteryPass, how we write and check, and why BatteryPass is not the Battery Pass consortium.
BatteryPass is software with which manufacturers and importers collect, prove, review, approve and permanently provide the data of the EU battery passport, with clear responsibilities and traceable changes. We built it for a case we know well: few battery models, many units, and data spread across spreadsheets, the ERP and suppliers.
Who we are
BatteryPass is a software product of [[Firmenname / company name]]. We build it for manufacturers and importers of batteries over 2 kWh and are preparing the first pilot with a manufacturer of stationary storage.
BatteryPass-Redaktion
BatteryPass product and regulation team
We build BatteryPass and read the Battery Regulation, the Commission's guidance and the ERP vendors' documentation in the original for it. Drafts are written with AI assistance; people review every article, and every regulatory statement links to its primary source.
Not the Battery Pass consortium
The name is similar, the thing is not: BatteryPass is a software product of [[Firmenname / company name]]. It is not the Battery Pass consortium (thebatterypass.eu), not its data model and not a public authority. We can export passports in the Battery Pass consortium data model (v2.0) because it is a widely used exchange format; that is all that connects us.
How we write
- Primary sources first. We check every regulatory statement against the text of Regulation (EU) 2023/1542 on EUR-Lex and link the article or annex with the date of our check.
- Data instead of retyped dates. Dates and thresholds come from the same facts registry that the product uses, so the website and the software do not contradict each other.
- AI assistance, human review. Drafts are written with the help of AI. People check every text against the sources before it is published.
- Honest status. We write what is ready and what is not, and name the legal acts that are still open. We claim no approval, seal or registration that does not exist.
- Dates that mean something. An article gets a new update date only when its content changes, and then says what changed.
